Strawberry Extravaganza!

Weight: 196.2 lbs.

I must realize that just becasue I say that I WANT to klick everything up, doesn’t mean that it all falls immediately into place and I am perfect or 100% commited or Debra from that moment forward. I am trying, but as can be seen by my weight, it’s not like I’m doing the Biggest Loser thing, either.

I did have a decent day, worked out harder in the early morning, ate decently, and kept a good attitude for the most part. Last night Tom and I indulged in a quart of strawberries bought for only $1.49 at Aldis (I LOVE Aldi’s, but that’s another story!). We ate them with some diet whipped cream, and they made for a heavenly evening treat. They felt so indulgent to eat, and I do wonder if they kept me from losing because I ate them so late and all, but that is ok, in that they are healthy and were so wonderful. For dinner before that, I had tuna on salad with some  shredded cheese, tomatoes, and hot peppers in it. I am trying also to build more veggies into my diet, as I realize that on many days I am sorely lacking, and can’t probably rely on my vitamins to do everything for me.

Last night, Marlene dropped by and stayed a few hours, just wanting to visit and chat, I guess. This was nice and we offered her dinner, but she declined and settled on several cups of coffee instead. This led to heavy drinking on my part as well, and delayed our own dinner into a later hour. While here, Marlene, who doesn’t have a computer of her own and relies on the library for internet service, checked her e-mail by using our connection. In the process, I introduced her to this site, and showed her the garage sale pics and all, including the one that she is in. She saw my weight posted on that days entry, and commented aloud that she was shocked that I weighed like 196. I asked her if she had figured that I weighed more or less, and she said that she figured that I weighed a lot less, “like 150 or something!” She didn’t think that I looked as heavy as my 190’s. This was one of the best compliments I feel that I have gotten, and wish she was right! And if so, I must wonder what I WILL look like at 150 then!

And speaking of such things, there was an article in Sunday’s paper about how Buffalo, NY is the 14th fattest city in the US. It said that cities were ranked according to the percentage of people that are overweight, the percentage of type II diabetes, money spent on junk food, and the number of people who ate fast food nine or more times per month. By comparison, Rochester, which is about 90 minutes to our East, ranked 73rd. Maybe I should move back that way (I came from Syracuse, NY)!  But at least here I am in good (”bad”!) company…LOL!   Sigh….

Well, that having been said, I will continue my efforts to fight this battle and do my thing…and despite the added stress of a new work week, be “good.”  Once again I am blogging before working out as used to be my habit, so I will sign off now and go move my tailfeathers before work, and continue my efforts to do better by these work outs as well. I can’t be sure that I can fit them in every work morning as some days I start earlier than others, but for today, I can and will. And like always, I must focus on one day at a time, and doing my best. And if this includes strawberries for snack, it can’t be that hard!
