Order In The Court

Weight: 214.2 lbs.

I’ve been up since 3:53 am. I was so freezing last night in bed that I could hardly sleep, and finally had to have Tom wrap his overly hot body around mine every which way in order to stop shivering. I have been having this problem a lot lately, and am stupid to have declined an offer for an electric blanket from Tom, for Christmas. I think that its time to reconsider this!

Anyway, I think I may be premenstrual too or something, as I have also been restless in bed and rising earlier than even usual. Today set a record though, and the cat was just about doing the jig to get her breakfast so early.

I didn’t wake Tom who was due to get up in an hour for his job anyway, and set about continuing the work we had begun in organizing the files in our basement. What an undertaking! I am pleased to have already accomplished hours of work (it is now 7:18 am) and can see an end in sight! I also worked out and took my shower. We plan to go to the casino early today and “get it over with” - as at times it feels more like a required chore than fun. We only spend the “free” money loaded on our cards, eat, and then go. We can therefore fit this between Tom’s bus driving shifts, and as I am off, this should work well for both of us. Next Monday they aren’t doubling points, so we get to skip going altogether, which wierdly I am glad about.

In any event, I am on a mission to clean, organize and put away all unnecessary stuff, and for now, I don’t mind staying in in my pjs and just doing this all day. I am hoping that this “cleaning house” mentality will pave the way for other cleansing changes I need to make regarding my health and diet, as well. I am back to feeling relatively empowered and having some good energy to tackle such external and internal tasks, so we’ll see. Yesterday I did stay home all day and even cooked a “real” dinner of pork chops and brocolli with raw carrots and celery for added measure. Tom ate most including my leftover, but I managed to scarf down a chop and a half and some veggies. Then later, since dinner was very early, I snacked on some queso dip and more veggies. This, plus the fact that I had Tom’s oatmeal concoction (oatmeal, peanut butter, crushed walnuts, raisins, bananas and flax seed) for breakfast, makes me feel good that I ate relatively well while enjoying it all.

I plan to stay pretty good at the casino today, food wise, but being back in the real world is always a little more of a challenge, as will be returning to work tomorrow. This week I work 3 long days, including a late staff meeting that includes a pot luck, on Thursday.

So, as its nearly time to bid farewell to my long, productive weekend and re-enter the stressful world of obligation, I’m signing off now to savor my remaining hours and get the rest of my organizing done before Tom returns home.
