Snork! I think I am sick. Perhaps the holiday extravaganza has finally caught up with me, as I feel depleted, sniffly, sneezy and my stomach is upset. We were up until 2 am yesterday taking down Christmas decorations after Zoe and Dennis left near 11:00. At that time, we were energetic and wired from too much coffee, and it seemed like the thing to do at the time. Why wait?!
Well, now I see the virtues of pacing oneself. I didn’t work out today due to this, and I am not holding food down so great. Last night we did eat at Old Country Buffet, so I also wonder if I ate too poorly or a bad batch of something. I wasn’t too “bad”, although I must admit I did have 2 fried shrimp and some slurpee with a spoon. Slurpees used to be my all time favorite beverage (which no doubt is a lot to do with why I am fat!), and didn’t OCB add a slurpee machine to their already caloric choices of foods and drinks. And didn’t I hafta taste some spoonfuls of all 3 flavors. Blechhh really…and probably as stupid and non- nutritive of any item ever invented - but still what I felt compelled to choose this for “dessert.” At least I didn’t drink like glasses of it as I probably would have in olden days. Sometimes I wonder how I have manged to live into my 40’s!
Mercifully, today is an all in day and we are just organizing and taking care of household business. The cable company is due any time and hopefully will fix our on again, off again issue for real this time. Happily, today it is on again, and I’ve got the set on in the background for mindless viewing.
And, speaking of which, Tom was wrong when he said that tonight’s episode of Extreme Home Makeover was the Buffalo episode. According to the paper etc., it is another family…so, I guess that we’ll have to wait for further details and a more accurate reporter than Tom!
I’ll probably watch it anyway, ’cause today’s like that and I don’t have the stamina for much else!
