Metabolic Mayhem

Weight: 224.5 lbs.

My energy level and metabolism feel so revved up since I started working out, that I even had a hard time sleeping last night. First of all, I stayed up unusually late for me, full of energy and busy fussing around the house. I moved books from here to there and shelf to shelf, organizing and dusting them along the way. What a thrill!

And then, I begrudgingly went to bed, and slept fitfully at best, as I remained energetic and had many more ideas of things I wished to get done. Tom had remarked while on the phone long distance with his sister that “I miss the old Donna who can just sit and watch tv with me!” If I do watch tv, I MUST multi task at the same time, even if it is simply to clip coupons, read old newspapers and fuss.

And this morning, I worked out longer and harder than before!

I guess that this is a good thing (?)

Part of me is expending nervous energy as I still await word on the job, and worry that if I do get it, my “free” time will be sorely impacted so I had better get whatever I can done now.

Last night late, I also got terribly hunger/nervous munchies, and ended up eating MANY peanuts in the shell while multi-tasking in front of a good movie long after Tom had gone to bed. This was also unusual for me, but fortunately, didn’t seem to cause me to gain (yet?). I must have gotten a zillion protein grams in yesterday given my diet, and perhaps this too has something to do with my wacky energy.

As for today, we have already zoomed to the casino and back, and ate a full buffet for early lunch while there. I had: A bowl of chicken noodle soup in which I left the noodles, 10 large shrimp and cocktail sauce, tomatoes viniagrette, some cooked carrots and sugar snap peas, some sauteed mushrooms and the insides of 1/2 a fillet of fried haddock, and one cube of beef stew. I am stuffed! This was my breakfast and lunch, as we went at 10:30 and ate at 11:30 and I didn’t eat anything at home beforehand.

We won exactly $220.25 off of our ‘free” money, and were pleased at this. We did watch 3 individuals playing similar machines to ours win: $850, $1250 and $500 respectively. This has whipped me into a gambling frenzy, and I think that we are likely to break our gambling moratorium over the Thanksgiving weekend, and return here to play like “normal” people (not just our free points). Bet, bet, bet, bet…!!!! Crap!

I think I need to kick my metabolism down a notch…!
