Necessary Mutilation

Today was a very expensive day. We probably spent three times the measly $64 we won at the casino yesterday, between garage sales and a benefit that we just returned from this evening. Although I usually enjoy both, I am feeling rather grumpy about them at the moment. (Oh, and Barb, our cards did finally work at the casino, but not until I had the same scary experience as you, and was convinced that our free ride had indeed ended!)

First off, Tom bought some things I felt were a waste at today’s sales, and sure enough, they were deemed to be either broken or missing parts once we examined them at home. We are now actually debating whether to return to the most offending sale tomorrow, and see if we can either get our money back, or if the missing parts may have simply been left behind. Either way, this will jeopardize our plans to attend tomorrow’s metal detecting hunt - although we are on the fence about this anyway because we discovered that it is 2 hours away, AND, the forecast calls for rain (again!).
