Losing Weight But Not My Shirt (This Time!)

Weight: 253.5 lbs.

OK — so today I ate breakfast at Bob Evan’s again, but this time with my friend Nancee, whom I haven’t seen in ages. I ordered the same breakfast as yesterday (why change a good thing?), but this time took all the leftover fruit home. I did eat nearly all of the omelet though…yum, yum! It was nice to catch up with Nancee and hear stories of her summer off, children, and upcoming vacation. Although I nearly got locked out of the house when Tom called my cell to say that he was going to run our broken dehumidifier to the shop while I was out, and I said OK, forgetting that Nancee drove and I hadn’t brought any keys. We caught him just in time, or I would have been S.O.L. for an hour or two!

After he, and then he and I, ran errands, we zoomed off to the Casino for triple dollars day. This is a Monday deal whereby whatever money they load onto your playing card is tripled. The catch is that you must play this money through the slot machine(s) to qualify — although whatever you may win in excess of what they load, you get to keep. Stupidly, we fall for this deal every time, and usually don’t stop once the “free” money is used up. Well, today we didn’t, and ended up together winning $376.50, and believe you me, cashed out and came home with every penny! Plus, we ate a “free” buffet each and, unfortunately, even I got my money’s worth. I think I ate 3 crabs (legs and claws), some shrimp, a little peppered beef, my favorite tomatoes in vinaigrette, buttered carrots and mushrooms, and a few bites of banana chicken. I was even shocked and appalled at how much I was able to fit — and didn’t even feel hugely full until the drive home, when it all hit. Ugh!

Perhaps the fact that I discovered that I am not in menopause after all when we arrived home … accounts for my huge hunger (and crabbiness, 0f late). I’m not sure if this is good or bad news, but if you ask Tom, I’m sure that he would vote for the former. Menopause will probably be harder on him than me, when I am really in it. If my moods swings, wierd appetite, and porkiness are  just a sneak peek — then everyone is doomed!

Nothing else to add today…and I’m sick of writing about eating, so I’ll sign off before I get hungry again and have to confess what I may have nibbled on later this evening!
