Real Women Wear Sweats

Weight: 262 lbs.

I have an entirely different subject for today, partly inspired by my online friend Maggie’s message to me regarding gastric bypass not being about vanity, and partly due to today’s events.   After I arrived early to work this morning, I realized that my hair was still wet. I saw a client or two, did some paperwork, made a phone call or two, and then felt my hair again. When I realized that it was still “wet” — I ran to look in the mirror, and discovered that although I had showered in the morning and soaked my head under the spray as I always do, I actually forgot to shampoo it! What I was feeling wasn’t wetness, but moist, slicked-back greasiness! I figure that I must have simply combed my hair as if I had washed it, and didn’t notice until all those hours later that I had simply wet and rearranged bed head. Can gastric bypass affect your memory? As I made my way through the parking lot, I wondered why I was limping and uncomfortable. It was only after the meeting began and I was seated amongst many esteemed colleagues from various agencies that I happened to notice that I was wearing not just two different colored shoes, but that one was a pump, and one was a heel!
