Hot Diggity Dog: Hot Dogs!

Weight: 281 lbs.

Woo hoo - thankfully I DID lose since yesterday and now am no longer having to see an old, painful number that reminds me of past struggles (see yesterday’s entry).

Given what I’ve eaten today however, I will probably gain back UP to 282 by tomorrow!

After a hearty breakfast of oatmeal (with peanut butter), and a lunch of chicken salad in a can, our friends Janet and Sally came over for a barbeque dinner and we used our new grill to cook up some Sahlen’s hotdogs.

Unable to resist, I actually ate a WHOLE HOT DOG (without the bun, at least), a little baked beans, AND some pea soup!  And I didn’t barf or even feel that full … that is, until like 10 minutes later when I thought I was gonna die!

I clearly need to learn to eat slower and pace myself, and let the feeling of fullness come over me before I keep shoveling it in. I wish my brain, or stomach, or whatever, was a little quicker on the uptake!

In any case, I then went on a few hours later, to eat a bowl of cut up strawberries with diet whipped cream (our guests had it on angel food cake), and my first cup of coffee (decaf) since the surgery.

Mmmmm, mmmmm … too good, and now I feel regret and remorse and worry that I ate too much.

It is SO hard to judge such things now, whereas probably before surgery, I would have considered this a great diet. And, if I was strictly counting calories, I don’t think that I actually had THAT many today….

God, I think I need a dietician 24/7!
